The Miracles of the Holy Quran

The word “miracle” shows an event which is beyond the capacity of man to do. On the revelation of prophets the people of their era demanded for the miracles to prove themselves as the true prophets of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. The Prophets Hazrat Musa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام, Hazrat Isa عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام, Hazrat Daood عَلَیْہِ السَّلَام and other Prophets of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, showed the miracles to their people with the command of Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. The people at the time of the last prophet, Hazrat Muhammad صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم demanded for the miracles and He صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم showed them countless miracles from time to time. One of these major miracles is the Holy Quran. The revelation of Holy Quran is itself is a miracle of our beloved Prophet صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. As Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ said:

اَوَ لَمْ یَكْفِهِمْ اَنَّاۤ اَنْزَلْنَا عَلَیْكَ الْكِتٰبَ یُتْلٰى عَلَیْهِمْؕ-اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَّ ذِكْرٰى لِقَوْمٍ یُّؤْمِنُوْنَ۠(۵۱)

“Is it not enough for them that We have sent down the Book upon you, which is read to them? Indeed in it is mercy and advice for the Muslims”.

(51, Al ankboot)

In this verse of Holy Quran Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ clearly declares that Quran is a miracle. The demand of disbelievers is mostly so strange as they demand to see Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ or to descend of angels from heaven but Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّshows miracles according to His own will and Heعَزَّوَجَلَّ said that Quran is miracle enough. Holy Quran is unchallengeable miracles as Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ said in Holy Quran:

قُلْ لَّىٕنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الْاِنْسُ وَ الْجِنُّ عَلٰۤى اَنْ یَّاْتُوْا بِمِثْلِ هٰذَا الْقُرْاٰنِ لَا یَاْتُوْنَ بِمِثْلِهٖ وَ لَوْ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ ظَهِیْرًا(۸۸)

“Say You (O beloved), “If all mankind and jinns get together to bring something similar to this Qur’an, so they will not be able to bring the like of it, even if they help each other.”

(88, Bani Israil)

اَمْ یَقُوْلُوْنَ افْتَرٰىهُؕ-قُلْ فَاْتُوْا بِسُوْرَةٍ مِّثْلِهٖ وَ ادْعُوْا مَنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِّنْ دُوْنِ اللّٰهِ اِنْ كُنْتُمْ صٰدِقِیْنَ(۳۸)بَلْ كَذَّبُوْا بِمَا لَمْ یُحِیْطُوْا بِعِلْمِهٖ وَ لَمَّا یَاْتِهِمْ تَاْوِیْلُهٗؕ-كَذٰلِكَ كَذَّبَ الَّذِیْنَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ فَانْظُرْ كَیْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ(۳۹)

Do they say that “He (the Prophet) has fabricated it”? Say you (O beloved), “Then bring one Surah like it and, other than Allah, call anyone you can find if you are truthful.” Rather, they have denied the knowledge that they could not master, and they have not yet seen its outcome; similarly, those before them denied, therefore see the outcome of the unjust.

Quran is a miracle as contains the knowledge of every thing of the world. It contains the knowledge of everything from the bottom of sea to the lofty heights of space, from the creation of universe to the latest discovery of the firmament, from the embryo to the life of bees, and from the most probing question of philosophy to the most complicated problems of physics. The study of Quran contradicts with the unbelievers quote that “Quran is the word of human being” and it comes in the shape that “Quran is the word of creator”.

It is also a miracle of Quran that it does not contain any type of error in it despite the fact that it contains the knowledge of everything of the world and the world hereafter. Even it contains the information that was not and could not be possibly known at that time. There are a lot of revelations of Quran described in four to five words but the scientists took a hundred of years to understand and explain these. This explanation became possible after the discovery of highly developed telescopes, microscopes, computers and other such devices but it is described in Quran before the discovery of all these things by man. This shows clearly that Quran is the word of creator of everything who knows all the facts about the world and about its creation. The deep study of Holy Quran realizes that no human being can create even a single verse of Quran even the whole humanity cannot create it if they are working together as Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ said in Quran. The facts explained in the Quran are unable to explain by man even in this era of science and technology.

Another matchless miracle of Quran is that it is an unchallengeable miracle for all the worlds at all the time. The present study of natural sciences and mathematics also predicts that Quran is a miracle even at this stage of development of technology. The extraordinary mathematical structure of Quran shows that it cannot be the language of any human being but it is the knowledge given by Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ, the most merciful and most kind. When we consider the following era of the world where religion is not important for people and people don’t pay head to religion, the Quran is a miracle which pulls the people towards Islam by its matchless facts. The language of Quran is a miracle itself. The people of Arab were most perfect in using language. They knew the best use of language but on the revelation of Holy Quran, they bent their heads and accepted that they can not generate such an excellent linguistic collection. The perfection of the literary language of the Quran, the incomparable features of its style and the superior wisdom contained within it are some of the definitive proofs that it represents the words of our Lord, The Almighty Allahعَزَّوَجَلَّ .

The Holy Quran is safe and sound from its revelation to the following era and it will remain as it is even till the Day of Judgment and the world hereafter. It is also a great miracle of it. As the earlier books revealed by Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ are not found now in their original form. But Holy Quran is as it was from its revelation and its protection is taken by the most high Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ. As He says in Holy Quran:

اِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَ اِنَّا لَهٗ لَحٰفِظُوْنَ(۹)

Indeed We have sent down this Qur’aan, and indeed We Ourselves are its Protector.

May Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ enable us to understand the holy Quran and its miracles!
