An introduction to A’la Hadrat رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and some highlights from his life

*   A’la Hadrat, Imam-e-Ahl-e-Sunnat, Imam Ahmad Raza Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه was born in Bareilly, on Saturday 10 Shawwal-ul-Mukarram 1272 AH, at the time of Zuhr, in accordance to 14 June 1856 CE. (Hayat-e-A’la Hadrat, vol. 1, p. 77, summarised)

*   His noble father is Mufti Naqi Ali Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه and his grandfather is Mufti Raza Ali Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه. (Fazaail Baraylvi ‘Ulama-e-Hijaz ki nazar mayn, p. 67, slightly amended with amendments)

*   His birth name is ‘Muhammad.’

*   His mother would call him ‘Amman Miyahn.’

*   His father and other family members would call him ‘Ahmad Miya,’ and his grandfather would refer to him as ‘Ahmad Raza.’

*   His historical name was ‘Al-Mukhtar.’

*   A’la Hadrat رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه would write ‘Abd-ul-Mustafa’ before his name. (Tajalliyat Imam Ahmad Raza, p. 21, slightly amended with amendments)

*   He رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه was very bright and possessed a serious attitude from childhood.

*   At the very young age of 6, he رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه delivered a speech in fluent Arabic at a gathering of Milad, and surprised the people. (Faizan-e-A’la Hadrat, p. 85)

*   He رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه would never laugh out aloud.

*   Whenever he felt like yawning, he would bite down with his teeth on his finger and no sound would be produced.
