اَللّٰھُمَّ  صَلِّ   عَلٰی   سَیِّدِنَا   مُحَمَّدٍ  عَدَدَ مَا  فِیْ  عِلْمِ اللّٰہِ  صَلَاۃً   دَ اۤ ئِمَۃًۢ   بِدَوَامِ مُلْكِ  اللّٰہِ

Shaykh Aḥmad Ṣāwī رَحْمَۃُ اللہِ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ reports from some saints of Islam that by reciting this ṣalāt once, a person attains the reward of reciting ṣalawāt 600,000 times.^[1]

5. Nearness to the Prophet ﷺ

اَللّٰھُمَّ  صَلِّ  عَلٰی  مُحَمَّدٍ  کَمَا   تُحِبُّ  وَ  تَرضٰی  لَہٗ

Once, a person came to the Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ . Amazingly, the Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ  made this person sit between himself and Sayyiduna Abū Bakr Ṣiddīq رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ. The noble Companions رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم were surprised as to who this honoured person was. When he left, the Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ  explained, “When he recites ṣalāt upon me, he does so in these words.”^[2]

صَلُّوا عَلَی الْحَبِیْب!           صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلٰی مُحَمَّد

6. The ṣalāt of intercession

اَللّٰہُمَّ  صَلِّ  عَلٰی  مُحَمَّدٍ  وَّ  اَنْزِلْہُ  الْمَقْعَدَ الْمُقَرَّبَ  عِنْدَكَ  یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَۃِ

The Prophet صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ  has stated, “My intercession becomes necessary (wājib) for whoever recites ṣalāt like this.”^[3]
