doing the Tarbiyyah of others was carried out by the Companions who received Tarbiyyah from the Holy Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. After the era of the Companions, such Islamic scholars and pious predecessors continued to arrive who advanced the great work of calling to righteousness though their character. Kingdoms continued to be formed and they perished as well, governments came into existence and perished as well, cities were constantly built and deserted as well, however those pious people of Allah Almighty never abandoned the important task of calling to righteousness. When these people implemented the laws of Allah Almighty on themselves, He Almighty established their rule and governance over the hearts of people and He placed the crown of His sainthood on their head.
اَلْـحَمْـدُ لـِلّٰـه! Ghaus-e-A’zam Jeelani رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه is also from those noble personalities who kept away from greed and fear and who devoted each and every moment of their lives to rectify people for the pleasure of Allah Almighty and who remained engaged in bettering the hereafter of people throughout their lives. Allah Almighty granted him great excellences. Observe the greatness of Ghaus-e-Pak رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه that he was a saint of Allah Almighty by birth. (Tafreeh-ul-Khaatir, pp. 58)
Observe the greatness of Ghaus-e-Pak رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه that he kept a fast as soon as he was born, He would drink milk at the time of Sahari and then he رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه would open his fast at sunset. Observe the greatness of Ghaus-e-Pak that at the age of 5, his ritual of Bismillah Khuwani was performed, and after reciting ‘اَعُوْذُ بِاللّٰہِ مِنَ الشَّیْطٰنِ الرَّجِیْم’ and ‘بِسْمِ اللّٰہِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْم’ he recited 18 parts of the Holy Quran by heart and then said: My mother had also memorised this much, she would recite and I memorised by listening. Observe the greatness of Ghaus-e-Pak رَحْمَةُ اللهِ عَلَيْه that he offered Fajr Salah with the Wudu of ‘Isha for 40 years; it was his habit that when he would no longer be in a state of Wudu, he would make his Wudu [again] straight away and offer 2 Rak’ats of Nafl Salah. (Bahjat-ul-Asraar, pp. 164)
