them is a Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم."[1]

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                     صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Let us also listen to their virtuous mention with the intention of further strengthening love for them in our hearts and following their character and conduct.

Names, Teknonyms, and Titles:

Among al-asanayn al-Karīmayn رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا, the elder is Imam asan al-Mujtabā رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ. His teknonym is "Abū Muhammad", and his titles are "Taqī" and "Sayyid", while his common name is "Sib al-Rasūl". He is also called "Rayḥānat al-Rasūl". He is the chief of the youth of Paradise. His blessed birth took place on the night of 15th Ramadan, 3 Hijri, in Madinah al-Munawwarah.

The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم performed his Aqīqah on the seventh day, had his hair removed, and ordered that silver equal to the weight of his hair be given in charity.[2]

His name was given to him by the beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. The complete account is as follows:

Sayyidah Asmāˈ bint Umaysرَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا  conveyed the good news of the birth of Imam asanرَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ   to the noble Prophet  صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم.

The beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم came and said, "Asmāˈ! Bring my son to me." Sayyidah Asmāˈ رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهَا brought him (Imam Ḥasan رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ) wrapped in a cloth to the beloved Prophet            صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. The beloved Prophetصَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم  recited azan in his
