Excellences of the noble Ahl al-Bayt
Dear Islamic brothers! In praise of the pure Ahl al-Bayt رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم, Allah Almighty states in Surah al-Aḥzāb, Juzˈ 22, verse number 33:
اِنَّمَا یُرِیْدُ اللّٰہُ لِیُذْھِبَ عَنْکُمُ الرِّجْسَ اَھْلَ الْبَیْتِ وَ یُطَہِّرَکُمْ تَطْہِیْرًا (ۚ۳۳)
Allah only wants to remove every impurity from you, O family of the Prophet, and to purify you completely.[1]
Most esteemed exegetes of the noble Quran رَحِمَهُمُ الـلّٰـهُ are of the opinion that this blessed verse was revealed in favour of Sayyidunā ꜤAlī, Sayyidah Fāṭimah, Sayyidunā Imam Ḥasan, and Sayyidunā Imam Ḥusayn رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم.
Imam Aḥmad رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه narrated from Sayyidunā Abū SaꜤīd al-Khudrī رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ that this verse was revealed in honour of the Pure Five. Pure Five refers to the noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Sayyidunā ꜤAlī, Sayyidah Fāṭimah, Sayyidunā Imam Ḥasan, and Sayyidunā Imam Ḥusayn رَضِیَ اللهُ عَنْهُم.[2]
In one narration, it is mentioned that the noble Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم also included his other daughters, relatives, and pure spouses in this.[3]
Commenting on the blessed verse, Sayyidunā Imam al-Ṭabarīرَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states:
Meaning, O family of Muhammad صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Allah the Generous wills to keep bad deeds and immoral things away from you and to cleanse you from the impurity of sins.[4]
ꜤAllāmah Sayyid Mufti Muhammad NaꜤīm al-Dīn al-Murādābādī رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه states:
