Siyam [fasts] consecutively. If it is not possible either, he will have to feed 2-time meals to 60 Masakeen to their fill. The same Islamic law is applicable to every such Muslim who invalidates Sawm, but the Holy Nabi صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم exempted a blessed companion رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَـنْهُ from this compensation in an extremely beautiful way. Turned punishment into reward

Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah رَضِىَ اللهُ تَعَالٰی عَنْهُ has narrated that a person came to        the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم and humbly said, ‘O the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! I have been destroyed. The Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked: What has brought about your destruction? He humbly replied: I had intercourse with my wife in Ramadan. He صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: Can you free a slave? ‘No’, he replied. He صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked: Can you observe Sawm consecutively for two months?’ That man humbly replied in the negative. He صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم asked, ‘Can you feed sixty Miskeen [مِسکِین]?’ Again he humbly replied in the negative.

In the meantime, dates were brought in the blessed court of the Holy Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم. He صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said [to the person]: ‘Give them in charity.’ He humbly asked: Should I give them in charity to the one who is needier than me? Though there is no family as poor as mine throughout Madina-tul-Munawwarah?’ ‘فَضَحِکَ النَّبِیُّ صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتّٰی بَدَتْ نَوَاجِذُہُ وَقَالَ اِذْھَبْ فَاَطْعِمْہُ اَھْلَکَ’ having heard this the Beloved Rasool صَلَّى اللهُ تَعَالٰى عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم smiled and his blessed teeth were visible and said: ‘Go, feed these dates to your family’ (consider your expiation has been paid).
