Book Name:Sab Say Barh Kar Sakhi

the Beloved Prophet صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم stated, ‘Separate me from it too! I shall not return home until it has found a place.’

After finishing ‘Isha prayer, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم called me and asked about the remaining wealth. I said, ‘It is still with me, as I did not encounter a seeker.’ So, the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم spent the entire night in the Masjid. On the following day, he once again called me after the ‘Isha prayer. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم, Allah Almighty has taken this off your blessed shoulders (meaning, the remaining money has been given away).’ Upon hearing this, he recited Takbeer and thanked Allah Almighty. This is because the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم feared that death would arrive whilst the wealth remained in his possession. After this, I followed behind the Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم until he entered his blessed home. (Sunan Abu Dawood, vol. 3, pp. 230-232, Hadith 3055)

Dear Islamic brothers! You have heard about how generous our Beloved Messenger صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم was, such that he would not even allow the smallest amount of wealth to remain in his possession, and would remain restless until it was distributed amongst the people! Despite having the need for something himself, he would give it as Sadaqa to the poor and needy, and give so much to those who asked from him that they would have no need of asking again! But, alas! Our state is such that rather than adopting selflessness and generosity, there is no sign that love of the world is decreasing in our hearts, and we remain involved in increasing our worldly possessions and belongings.

Sayyiduna Majma’ Ansari رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه mentions regarding a pious predecessor that he once said: The favour of Allah Almighty upon me in saving me from the apparent comforts of this world is greater than those bounties given in the form of an increase of wealth and
