that were bestowed upon him in the midst of the sea at a high mountain. In response, he will say: ‘O my Lord, You are the one that does all this.’ Allah will say: ‘All this is because of My mercy, and it is because of My mercy that I place you in Paradise.’ Then, Allah will admit him to Paradise.’

Jibreel عَـلَيْـهِ الـسَّـلَام said: ‘O Muhammad صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم! Indeed, all things are by virtue of Allah’s mercy.’ (Mustadrak Alal-Sahiheen, vol. 5, p. 355, Hadith 7712)

صَلُّوۡا عَلَى الۡحَبِيۡب                                                                 صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّد

Dear Islamic brothers, did you see how even a pious individual who continuously worshipped for 500 years was declared worthy of entering Hell when Allah Almighty announced verdict based on justice. In the end, it was because of Allah’s mercy that the individual entered Paradise. This account illustrates that no matter how much a person worships and is pious, one should not depend on his actions; rather, one should hope in the mercy of Allah. The guarantee of success lies in this. There is no doubt that the mercy of Allah is extremely great; He does not send anyone back in despair. Instead, He even forgives the many wrongdoings committed by a very sinful person.

It states in part 25, verse 25 of Surah al-Shura:

وَ هُوَ الَّذِیْ یَقْبَلُ التَّوْبَةَ عَنْ عِبَادِهٖ وَ یَعْفُوْا عَنِ السَّیِّاٰتِ وَ یَعْلَمُ مَا تَفْعَلُوْنَۙ(۲۵)

And it is He Who accepts the repentance of His bondsmen, and pardons the sins (of His bondsmen), and knows whatever you do.
