Book Name:Sab Say Barh Kar Sakhi

gifts; it will foster love between you, and animosity will be removed. (Mishkaat Al-Masabih, vol. 2, p. 171, Hadith 4693)

The well-known Quranic commentator, Mufti Ahmad Yar Khan رَحْمَةُ الـلّٰـهِ عَـلَيْه writes: These two actions are tried and tested; the one whom you continue to shake hands with, you will not harbour animosity towards them, and if animosity happens to occur, through the blessings of this, it will not endure. In the same manner, giving gifts to one another puts an end to animosities. (Miraat-ul-Manajih, vol. 6, p. 368)

Dear Islamic brothers! Remember! Whether it is giving or receiving gifts, or whether it is any other matter, only Halal means should be utilised. This is because anything obtained through Haram means, whether it is eaten, drunk, worn or used in any way, is Haram and sinful. The punishment for this in this world is a lack of wealth, disgrace and a lack of blessings, and the punishment in the hereafter will be the blazing fire of Hell.

The Messenger of Allah صَلَّى الـلّٰـهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهٖ وَسَلَّم said: Whosoever earns Haraam wealth and then gives Sadaqa, it is not accepted, and if he spends from it, there will be no blessing in it, and if he leaves it behind, it will become his provision for Hell. (Sharah Al-Sunnah Lil-Baghawi, vol. 4, pp. 205,206, Hadith: 2023)

Therefore, we should strive to earn through Halal means, and anything that we have left beyond our necessities, instead of spending it on useless things, we should financially assist our poor and needy Muslim brothers, and spend as much as we can on Masajid, Madaris and for the advancement of righteous works. اِنْ شَــآءَالـلّٰـه, we will attain countless blessings from this.

It is stated in part 3, Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 274:
